Yogahood Australia is run by the commitment, dedication and passion of our volunteers who are supported by a governing board.
We are a growing organisation and we are always on the look out for yoga teachers, yoga advocates, and professionals with a heart for service and a commitment to our mission and vision.
Yogahood Australia volunteers are chosen based on their commitment to our mission, their personal and professional experience, their character, skills and their interest and availability.
REQUIREMENTS
In order to best serve the community and protect our volunteers, all teachers who wish to volunteer with Yogahood Australia must meet one of the following criteria.
New Yoga Teachers (Pathway One):

Have completed a minimum 200 hour yoga teaching training qualification

Have taught a minimum of 50 hours

Experienced Yoga Teachers (Pathway Two):
-
Have completed a minimum 200 hour yoga teaching training qualification

Have extensive experience teaching yoga to kids OR
-
Be a qualified Yoga Therapist OR
-
Be an accredited Yoga Therapist under Yoga Australia, the Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) or similar
Specialised Yoga Teacher (Pathway Three):
-
Qualified yoga teachers with significant experience (more than 10 years) OR
-
Have a specialised qualification such as trauma-aware yoga OR
-
Have certification with the 300 hour program from the Trauma Centre for Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) or Yoga for Humankind (other qualifications could also be considered) OR
-
Be an allied health professional such as counsellor, psychologist, mental health practitioner with significant industry experience
Teachers also need to have current Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance, first aid qualifications and have completed Yogahood Australia’s Yoga Outreach training via one of the approved pathways.
